Since the last COVID-19 announcement on Jan. 7, Fullerton College contact tracing concluded that twenty (20) on-campus students tested positive and seven (7) on-campus employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Fullerton College aims to release information about on-campus COVID-19 exposures on a weekly basis if an exposure occurred in the week prior. In the event anyone is directly impacted by an exposure or a potential exposure on campus, they will receive guidance from the college before and apart from the public announcements.
Spring Semester Update
Due to the unfortunate surge Orange County is experiencing from the highly transmittable nature of the Omicron variant, Fullerton College will start the Spring Semester with mostly remote classes and services through February 4. City and county cases started spiking at the end of December 2021 and are now at an all-time high of 108 cases per 100,000 people. The good news is that the variant appears to be more contagious but less severe. Health officials are projecting that the number of cases caused by Omicron should decline by the beginning of February.

Fullerton College is committed to reporting transparent and accurate information regarding the ongoing amount of on-campus COVID-19 student cases. This reporting process is being revamped due to the complexities of contact tracing and our practice to conclude contact tracing before an announcement is made. Weekly announcements will continue to report on-campus positive cases that have been confirmed through contact tracing.
