Sept. 3 – Vaccination Mandate Update

September 07, 2021

This post provides a brief update on the mandate implementation, and I will keep you informed as more details become available.

Recap
On August 24, the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees voted to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees, and for students enrolled in on-campus classes with allowances for religious or medical exemptions as defined by law. Those who are not vaccinated will be provided free weekly COVID-19 tests.

What’s Next?
By September 15, Fullerton College will have a process in place for students to securely update their vaccination information through MyGateway. To be considered fully vaccinated by November 1, the final vaccine dose must be received no later than October 17.

By September 15, the college will also have instructions and forms available to those who seek an exemption. Weekly testing will be required for students taking classes on-campus who have not been fully vaccinated starting November 1.

Get Vaccinated
The best thing you can do now is to get vaccinated if you haven’t already. Fullerton College and the Orange County Health Care Agency will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224-228. Learn more on the Fullerton College News Center. We are expecting more specific information for employees in the coming days. We are not out of the woods yet, but working together, we can end this pandemic. Together we can reach #HiveImmunity.

With Appreciation,
Gilbert J. Contreras, Ph.D.
Interim President
