Dear Students,
Fullerton College is committed to creating a safe environment and will join colleges throughout the state and country to require COVID-19 vaccinations. The due date for students taking on-campus classes and all employees to be fully vaccinated is November 1.
On August 24, the North Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees voted to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees, and for students enrolled in on-campus classes with allowances for religious or medical exemptions as defined by law. Those who are not vaccinated will be provided free weekly COVID-19 tests.
As we work to provide guidance and further instructions, the best thing you can do now is to get vaccinated. Fullerton College will partner with the Orange County Health Care Agency to host a vaccination clinic on campus on Sept. 9. Additionally, the Health Center website provides a summary of local vaccination resources for students.
I understand that you may have many questions, and we will be forthcoming soon with details regarding:
- The deadline and process to collect vaccination information
- The deadline and process to collect exemptions
- Instructions on mandatory testing for those who request an exemption
We are deeply committed to your success and wellbeing, and many steps are being taken to roll these efforts out in a way that is not disruptive to your fall semester. We can help end this pandemic if we work together to reach #HiveImmunity.
With appreciation,
Gilbert J. Contreras, Ph.D.
Interim President
