Fullerton College has learned of five new cases of COVID-19 on-campus in the last weekly reporting cycle.
- On July 26, an employee received positive COVID-19 test results. The employee began experiencing symptoms on July 25 and was last on campus July 20. While on campus, they wore a mask, worked independently and did not come within close contact with another individual, as determined by CDC contact tracing guidelines.
- On July 27, a student-athlete learned of their positive results during routine testing provided to students who participate in sports conditioning classes. The student last attended a conditioning class on July 20 and began experiencing symptoms on July 23. They came to campus July 26 only to receive testing. During the time of testing they wore a mask and did not come in close contact with another individual, as determined by CDC contact tracing guidelines.
- On July 28, a student-athlete learned of their positive results during routine testing provided to students who participate in sports conditioning classes. The student last attended a conditioning class on July 20 and began experiencing symptoms on July 25. They came to campus July 26 only to receive testing. During the time of testing they wore a mask and did not come in close contact with another individual, as determined by CDC contact tracing guidelines.
- On July 28, a student-athlete learned of their positive results during routine testing provided to students who participate in sports conditioning classes. The student was asymptomatic and was last on campus on July 26 only to receive testing. During the time of testing they wore a mask and did not come in close contact with another individual, as determined by CDC contact tracing guidelines.
- On July 28, a Fullerton College employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was last on-campus July 26, and left that day after they began feeling symptoms. While on campus, the employee wore a mask but did come in close contact, meaning less than 6 feet apart for 15 cumulative minutes or longer (per CDC guidelines) with other individuals. All close contact exposures have been notified, and those who are not vaccinated have been advised to isolate/quarantine per CDC guidelines.
Through contact tracing, it was determined that transmission did not occur on campus among the student-athletes.
Fullerton College aims to release information about on-campus COVID exposures on a weekly basis if an exposure occurred in the week prior. In the event anyone is directly impacted by an exposure or a potential exposure on campus, they will receive guidance from the college before and apart from the public announcements.
