April 6 Update for Students

April 06, 2020

Dear Students,

I hope that your spring break gives you time to rest, rejuvenate and focus on your wellness. The past three weeks have not been easy for you, and I am so deeply appreciative of your flexibility and resilience to carry on.

I wanted to share a few updates to help you prepare for the rest of the semester.

Most notably, the Fullerton College campus will remain closed throughout the spring semester, and all classes that have migrated online will remain so for the remainder of the term. About 94 percent of courses have transitioned to a remote format. For those classes that were unable to transition to a remote format, there are many efforts underway to offer the remaining coursework as soon as we are able to resume classes in-person.

Our student support services and academic tutoring have transitioned to remote formats as well, and I encourage you to utilize these programs during the remaining six weeks of the semester. Please reach out to our programs, and keep connected to your instructors. Our faculty and staff are here for you, and we will get through this together.

I want to assure you that throughout spring break our hardworking team of faculty and staff continue to address and resolve issues that many of you have asked about, including tuition refunds, excused withdrawals, parking refunds and technology support. Thank you for your patience as we work to bring you more answers and support.

I understand that being a Hornet is not all that defines you. Your lives are complex, and your responsibilities are great. You and your loved ones’ safety and health is above all what’s most important.
You are doing your best; keep up the good work. I am so proud of you.

Sincerely,

Greg Schulz, Ed.D.
